dude im with u...it seems like everyone but me can get it to b crisp n clean under the cafe limits...but urs does look good...reds always *mess* up btw

Actually green and yellow are both a lot worse. But it's not just the color that goes into the file size.
As for the sig, it doesn't look bad at all for under the limits.

You can try to make the width of the sig a little smaller. I noticed that your Troy Smith one is 430 pixels wide.
Making sigs around 350 pixels wide allows you to get a lot more quality out of 12 kb.

I try to keep my sigs around 350-380 x 100.
