I guess it's not enough the guy sucked up Cincinnati and Chicago. Way to go Bills.

I don't think Jauron is really all that bad...

However, I don't understand hiring a defensive coach as head coach of a team that needs so much help on the other side of the ball... It's almost as bad as the Rams hiring an offensive specialist for their vacancy...

It should be noted what the Lions did under Jauron, though:

1) Narrow loss to a Minnesota team making a playoff run (5 points)...

2) 3-point loss to Green Bay...

3) Blown out by Cincinnati...

4) Win over New Orleans...

5) A loss to the soon-to-be Super Bowl Champion Steelers that was MUCH closer than the score indicates...

Given the situation he inherited, I don't think that was an overall bad performance... And God knows the Lions defense has made ENORMOUS strides with him as coordinator...

Like I said, I don't understand hiring a defensive coach in Buffalo, but I don't think Jauron is near as bad as a lot of people on this thread make him out to be...

I don't like it, nor even understand this hire. But I can say that Marv Levy has forgotten more about football then I'll ever know. And maybe that's part of the problem, Levy has forgotten more about football. :-b

Wait, Harrington was a better option? :-b

Oh absolutely. It wasnt really close. Most people that simply just watched the Lions play this yr could tell you this.

I see this move hurting Losman and Evans but helping McGahee and the Bills D.

Terrible hire. As with Haslet, why hire a guy with a long history of mediocrity or worse. Black coaching candidates have to shake their heads over this hire. Sure there aren't as many good black candidates this year as there has been in previous offseasons but still, this hire SCREAMS good ol' boy network.

As a Lions fan I can only say... good riddance. Jauron is the type of guy that can get some of these players to play up to their potential and Buffalo SHOULD, under any coach, rebound next year but a guy as conservative as Jauron will only take them so far (how many years did he refuse to hire that no-talent-A-clown shoop?).

Bills fans, welcome to the 3 yard out.

The hiring of Dick Jauron is terrible news for fantasy footballers. Do people not remember the anemic offenses and quarterback struggles in Chicago under Jauron? Looks like a very similar situation in Buffalo.

If I was a McGahee owner, I'd be very worried.
