The Ultimate Cafe Super Bowl.

Postby Nilmerf » Sun Jan 22, 2006 10:34 pm

We've got the ultimate fantasy of a Super Bowl matchup for the Cafe. Seattle and Pittsburgh represent the largest contingent of fans here at the Cafe.

I just want to say congratulations to all the Steeler fans, most of you are cool. Definitely the two most deserving teams this year. I won't be a homer and say that Seattle will blow them out. It will be close and a good game.

Seattle 27
Pittsburgh 24

I'm not going homer.
I like Pitt's chances here. Combined point total 38?

I'd say that's about right. Good to see the Seattle fans are not as homerish as the Pitt fans.

I dunno, they've been backing a team at their true value when everyone was underrating the steelers. They aren't looking through a homer lens until they over-value their own team.

It should be a good matchup.

I'm anxious to see how Hasselbeck responds to the pressure he will receive.

Big Ben has been battle tested the last 3 games so hopefully he will continue to play at a high level.

Should be a good game.

Steelers - 27
Seahawks - 17

It's great to see both the Steelers and Seahawks in the big game; both most deserving teams. Go Hawks!

Nice to see Seattle get in - I'm also a Seattle fan - used to live in Calgary for a zillion years and we got our cable feed from Spokane so we always got all the Seahawks games so they were my #2 team after my Steelers. Guess this silences all those Seahawks critics who said they were just lucky to get this this far (reminds me of what A. J. Foyt said when someone called him lucky - he said: "It's funny, but the harder I work, the luckier I get!"). Amazing the "Hawks could do what the Giants and Bears couldn't.
Super Bowl Xtra Large is gonna be a good one!!!

I really could care less about the Steelers or the 'hawks but this is going to be a great superbowl. Two teams that have been firing on all cylinders on both offense and defense. Part of me thinks that the Seahawks are the better team but the Steelers have been playing on such an intense emotional level that they're going to be hard to stop. Also I'ed kind of like to see Bettis get his ring.

Like Gnu314, I am not really partial to either team (not my local team/a team that I root for, and neither team seems more deserving...Seattle has never won one, but it could well be Bettis' last game). Chances are that it will be close, but I think that the Steelers will win (I think that the two teams are well matched...just a gut feeling).

This game has the makings of a very good Super Bowl.

Holmgren v. Cowher

6 appearances v. first appearance

League MVP v. tough rush defense

underrated pass game v. underrated defense

Awwchrist v. Gutpuppy

It don't get any better.

Initial thoughts, if it's close, Seahawks; if it's a blowout, Steelers.
