Hopefully he has learned his lesson and took enough punishment this season to just give it up. :-D

He's gonna be back. That's why they hired McCarthy as HC. I'd expect him to revert to typical favre with 25+ TDs, 18+ INT and 3500 yards.
ADMIN edit: please note that the overall sig limit is 12k - thanks!

learned lesson and should give up??

what makes favre so GREAT is that he nevers learns his lesson..he's hardheaded and people respect that...i think youre just afraid as a giants fan that the pack will be back next season...javon will be back along with a running back that will prob be brought in through the draft/free agency along with gado as the backup....

favre shouldnt retire after having such a depressing season...even if the pack isnt great next season, he'll have a better chance of being able to retire on a good offensive season if he comes back...plus theres a couple records hes nipping at..

at first when they fired sherman i thought for sure the guy would retire, but im not so sure now, i think its 50/50 at this point.
i think he still has a desire to win, and that team really wasnt bad, they just had really bad luck. but i also think his wishy washy approach about retirement isnt good for the team.

Why should he revert? The Pack is looking like it's going to get even worse unless they can create some serious cap space.

farve hasn't been great in a while. The team is going nowehere, and his last time with mccarty was one of his worst seasons.

The thing that MADE Farve great, but makes him bad now is his hard ehadedness. He simply doesn't have it like he used to, but he won't admit in his mind. The last season he was good was the 4th and 26 year against the eagles. People compeltely forget the totally idiotic picks he threw. If he doesn't do that, they win the game.

I think it is time for him to hang it up.
The opening scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on games of dodgeball Brian Dawkins played in second grade.

He'll be back, Favre loves the game too much to leave. Plus, he still has a lot left if everyone is healthy around him and he gets time to throw.

Create serious cap space? The Pack have the 4th best Cap situation even if Favre comes back. A much overlooked part of what Ted Thompson has done is try to fix all the bad contract situations that Sherman put us in. Plenty of Cap room for the Pack this season.
Winning isn't everything...It's the only thing!
