ESPNews reports the St. Louis Rams will name former New Orleans Saints head coach Jim Haslett defensive coordinator. Haslett will sign a three-year contract, financial terms of which have not yet been disclosed.

I'm just curious why he would be hired as a DC considering how pathetic the Saints so-called defense was with him as their head coach.

he did have some success with their D in 99-2000. Besides, technically, he's a defensively minded coach, as he played LB in the NFL.

It's kind of how TB brought in Gruden to be an "offensive genius," and then their offense proceeded to suck for years until recently.

Not a bad signing by STL. It's always nice to have a former head coach in a coordinator positon, IMO

very good signing...

haslett knows defense but NOTHING about offense...thats why hes not a good head coach....

when he took over control of the defense two seasons ago (over venturi) the defense got much better and the saints won four games in a row....
