#1 Fantasy kicker for 2006: Jeff Reed

Here's my sleeper kicker...

Olindo Mare, he's really not that bad, and I think that the Phins have just enough firepower to kick a lot of FGs next season. Plus the warm weather can't hurt.

I don't think there's any way in the world that Reed will be the #1 fantasy kicker. The big problem with Reed is that he has to kick at Heinz field half the season in which every kicker has trouble kicking FGs. I wouldn't expect huge numbers from him, probably about what he has been the past few years.

I wouldn't go so far as to draft their kicker, but I agree that the Phins offense is going to have a lot more firepower next year. Depending on the QB situation I'll likely elevate Chambers and Dolphins RB(s) in my rankings. I generally don't like Dolphins kickers because they kick on baseball field in September, and stink it up in windy, cold weather stadiums later in the year.

Hopefully people will go by this list, and I'll grab Tynes or Feely. ;-7

Isn't Pittsburgh one of the toughest stadiums for kickers? I know Jeff Reed does much better than any other kicker there... But if I recall correctly, I don't think anyone has ever kicked a 50+ yard field goal in Pittsburgh.

There aren't many tiers for kickers. No real drop off. So picking them early is always a terrible strat.

Its more about preference.

I'm not a big fan of Reed. Hines Field is one of the hardest places to kick in and Reed doesn't have a strong leg to kick 50+ yarders. If your league awards extra points for 50 yarders, I wouldn't want to use Reed as my kicker.

I have two rules for kickers. Draft one in the last couple of rounds and find a dome kicker by week ten.

This year I had Shane Grahm until his bye week when I picked up Jeff Wilkens.

I'll try and get the same ones I had this past season, Wilkins and Feely.
