Yeah, some are very rare. Since 2001 they've come out with about 2 or 3 sets per year with about 6-8 regular figures in each set. Most sets also have "chase" figures which are inserted randomly into the boxes. Production on these varies. Even though they have only been produced since 2001 (atleast the NFL line), some of the figures go for several hundred $$.

For example Series 11, which was shipped out in like June or July contained a regular set of 8 of Tiki, Willie Roaf, Big Ben, Brady, Horn, J.Jones, McGahee, Moss. Most of the figures also had variants made (usually the same figure with opposite color jersey). There were also chase inserts of Jason Elam and Alex Smith who were not part of the regular set. Tiki Barber and Tom Brady also had extremely rare 2nd variants made. Tiki's normal variant was a white jersey w/ blue socks. The 2nd variant, or what some people call super chase, was a white jersey w/ red socks. Brady's 2nd variant was his normal variant with no helmet. Some of these no helmet figures apparently have eye black while others don't. I haven't figured out the difference between the 2 price wise. But both Barber and Brady's superchases go for like $170+.

There are currently 12 normal sets out with many different variant figures.

McFarlane also produced "exclusives" that were given out at conventions an whatnot. Each year they also produce Super Bowl exclusives. One year was Seau/Tomlinson ($200+), Carr/George, Leftwich/Taylor...this year's is Barry Sanders.

They also just started an NFL Legends line last year.

Tuff Stuff has a price guide for these...IMO most of the normal figures and normal variants are overvalued; while alot of the "super chases" are undervalued by Tuff Stuff.

Best place to find these has been Ebay for me. Let me know if you guys have any other ??

I happen to work for the largest McFarlane distributor in Canada. They cover all 4 sports as well as doing fantasy lines, horror, movie related releases, pop culture etc... There are literally hundreds of different figs ranging from 3" series up to 12"

Some are very rare, super chases such as the no helmet McNabb that sold for $400+ at release. The real money is if you were into it very early on. Patrick Roy variant consistently sells for $200-$300.

Now is the time to actually start collecting again as the popularity is dwindling and the production runs are coming down. If anyone is looking for something specific, let me know, I have a few customers that have an excellent inventory of older stuff.

For me, I only sell by the case so can't personally help out although I am kind of the McFarlane guy at work and get the samples they send us which has turned into a nice perk. Don't get variants but get full sets of everything sent up. The problem after awhile is space. I have box after box of "toys" and I am 35.

if anyone is interested here is the 2008 lineups for the first regular wave, the legends wave and the mini team wave.

http://www.spawn.com/toys/categorytype. ... egoryid=26

favre was given and moss i expected but to have another romo and bush already? jamarcus russell? all of the players in the nfl and they pick some really crappy ones sometimes.

as far as the legends go another montana is nice and i like the pose but would it be to much to ask for a chase chiefs paint scheme?defintely want moon and riggins (maybe they will throw warren in a chiefs uni.that would be almost even better).
