Martz to Motor City?

Postby Keyser_WV » Sun Jan 29, 2006 10:05 pm

The article says he will make his decision by Monday which leads me to believe they may have offered him the OC job.

I traded for Roy Williams in my big money keeper league so this sounds good to me.

Martz is one of those guys that is a better coordinator than HC so I think this is a good move personally.

Just need to figure out who will play QB.

How do the Detroit fans feel about Martz as OC?

I like it! ;-D It can't get much worse for Detroit, so why not bring in a crazy scheme like Martz has? Of course, they still need a QB who can implement the offense...so there will be some work to do.

I don't think this is great news for Kevin Jones owners.....because Martz has a tendancy to disregard the running game if he's allowed to call the shots. But i think that this definitely helps Roy Williams most of all.

It sure does sound as if Martz has already been offered the gig. I wonder how well it will work with the Lions lazy WRs and inaccurate QB. Is Martz healthy enough to survive these guys?

I'm hopeful that he is and that he will teach these knuckleheads to play football. ;-D

It may not signal the end of KJ, Martz's O has been proven to open up the field, so KJ might have room to run. That was as big a problem for him as anything, having 11 men in the box because Mariucci's offence stretched the field horizonally not vertically.

If i was a Lions fan i wouldnt be happy with this move. I just dont trust Martz. What did he ever do in St Louis to garner any respect?

Ahaha, touche indeed. However I actually agree, I feel like Mike Martz is the crazy old NFL coach that everyone knows but know one is really sure what his method is.

As a Kevin Jones owner, I hope and pray the Lion's hire Martz. The man is an offensive genius.

Good for the Lions if he is indeed the new OC. I wish the Raiders would have offered him the OC position and have the Whizzinator as HC. I think that Williams will have to go up a few spots as far as WRs go in next seasons draft. I don't know about KJ though.
