Officiating was favored in Pittsburgh side. Not saying it was the reason for their victory, but they took away 4 points right off the bat and continued to make poor calls for parts of the game.
Anyone else hear how disappointed Levy was when he had to overturn the Hass "fumble"? If you TiVoed it, check it out... my brother caught it (him cheering for the Seahawks, I the Steelers) and I actually found it quite funny, and true!
There was no illegal block....only a very bad call.
Among all of the crap posting that's been going on here lately with people bashing each other's teams, it really nice to see a stand up post like this one. Well said, Stomper.
I'm feeling pretty disenfranchised with some of the members of the Cafe, both Seattle and Steeler fans alike, with their conduct both pre, and postgame.
Their lack of sportsmanship has been frustrating.
Grats Steelers.

Only 3 leagues this year. No sense in rooting for everyone in the NFL.

I don't have Tivo. Care to explain this?
And to stomperrob: Thanks for being gracious. I've tried to be good about losing but it's really tough so closely after the game.
Classy stomper. The two best teams did play last night. It was a shame that the officiating was lacking at times, because it hurt both teams. I mean, look at all the press criticizing the officiating and that takes away from what the steelers accomplished, which was a pretty impressive run against 4 very talented teams.

It's nice to have this franchise finally turn the corner. To the other team that have never been to "The Big Game" Your time will come. I never through Seattle's would, but it has. Don't give up. I only wish the outcome would have been different.
Sporting events are family events. If you can't watch your language for 3 hours then stay home.

Funny how either winning or losing can bring out the worst in people. Fans would be wise to emulate one of my all-time favorite players when it comes to celebrating - Barry Sanders - he could give all of us a much needed lesson in humility!

Great post. I agree with everything you said in your initial post. Like awwchrist said, there were many children in here last night during and after the game.
My hat goes off to the Steelers organization and all of their loyal fans. Well deserved. I am ecstatic for Coach Bill Cowher and Jerrome "The Bus" Bettis" He is a fixture in the NFL and although he is doing the right thing for himself, I hate to see him go!
My hat also goes off to the Seahawks organization and all of their loyal fans. You deserved to be in the big game. You have a very solid team (if they all stay together) and will be a force to be reckoned with next season. I would expect to see them back in the SB next year against MY Miami Dolphins.
