WORST Moment Super Bowl XL

Postby ScreamingWeasel » Mon Feb 06, 2006 4:43 pm

Most of you Cafe regulars know that I'm older than dirt.
I grew up with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
Hell. I remember when "Satisfaction" was banned from radio play!

I could have lived the rest of my life without seeing a 62 year old Mick Jagger in a belly shirt and low rider jeans.

Hey, at least it wasn't N'Sync and Aerosmith. Though they sounded terrible, especially Richards, I thought The Stones were at the least, entertaining for ten minutes.

Hey Buddy, watch yourself! Britney Spears was in that show. Therefore that was one helluva performance. I mean, the music was fantastic.

Yeah, sure it was. Knowing just how disgusting Brit looks these days, pretty much wipes out how she looked back then. :-P

I gotta agree with the Big Greeny, Matt Hasselbeck made a great play, not a foul. That kind of guts in the superbowl should be rewarded not punished.

2 worst moments both thanks to ike taylor (my former college teammate)..

1) dropping what would have been his first interception when it hit him right in the chest, even though he still got one later in the game----would have had a chance at mvp of the game

2) during his introduction he said he was from new orleans, louisiana instead of recognizin our school (although i love my state and the n.o. i was hopin he would give us a little cred)

Mick Jagger was pretty bad... BUT

The worst moment goes to seeing Matt Hasslebeck's face after his pass to Jerramy Stevens to the 2-yard line was called back for a hold. Regardless on whether or not there was a hold, this was just another among the list of (valid or not) penalties that sucked the wind out of Seattle's sails throughout the course of the game.

Shaking his head in disgust, and in disgrace, Hass throws the pick right afterwards. At that moment the Super Bowl was over... and Seattle just felt like the world was crashing down on them.

Worst moment for me in the NFL for a long time... rates up there with Philly booing Irvin's career-ending injury. :-t
