The guy had some nice seasons in Seattle till the booze got to him. This tidbit talks about him going to Carolina to play opposite Smith. Would be quite an interesting combo if he can keep his act together.

From ESPN:

<Feb. 8> After rehabilitating his career with the Vikings last season, Robinson is now scheduled to become a free agent in March and would be interested in returning close to home and joining the Carolina Panthers, who are likely to attempt to bolster their receiving corps, the Charolotte Observer reports.
After a difficult tenure in Seattle, where the receiver was dogged by off-the-field problems, Robinson earned a trip to the Pro Bowl as a return man in his first season in Minnesota. With John Fox and the Panthers coaching staff in charge of the NFC squad, Carolina has a unique chance to get an in-depth look at Robinson this week.

"I'm going to use this week to impress them and show them the type of person I am now," Robinson said.

nice to see him apparently getting his life back on track and moving in the right direction. he could be a decent number two in carlina but then i think anyone besides colbert could be a decent number 2 option in carolina really.

I definitely think Carolina would be an excellent situation for him to be in. They have had a hole at #2 WR for years now (they were fine in 2004 until SSmith went down), and I think he certainly has the physical talents to fill that need.

The Carolina 2nd receiver woes seem to me to be more of a product of Jake Delhomme than the ability of the no. 2 guy. When your program produces the top wr 2 years in a row with different guys, then I think that shows that your QB has a case of tunnel vision.

KRob is gonna Bust out this year!!!!!!! ;-7

In http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/scorecard/02/07/truth.rumors.nfl/index.html

They speculate if Tice will encourage Robinson to join the Jags since he enticed (no pun) Robinson to join the Vikings. Personally, I think he would be a nice fit for the Panthers to compliment Smith.

All it's gonna take is one dropped ball for Delhomme to get tunnel vision the rest of the season. I will take a flier on him if he drops far enough though.

I think that if KRob goes to Carolina, it is better news for S. Smith than it is for Robinson. I think all this does is keep the defensive secondarys more honest because there is another good WR threat on the other side....but I still see Smith getting the ball most of the time.

I've been saying this for a while now: if K-Rob dips into the 10+ round I'll be more than happy to grab him. I'm certain he has the skill to become a top 10 WR and that's the type of low-risk gamble that would win a fantasy championship.

Of course if he ends up in a situation where the offense is poor he may still not amount to much.

Part of me really likes the Carolina idea because I think he'd be a great compliment to defenses keying on Smith. Part of me doesn't like it since I still think Delhomme has a bit of tunnel-vision as has already been mentioned.

If he were cheap enough I would even take him back in Seattle. :-o
