PENSACOLA, Fla. - A middle school gym teacher let children sit out his class if they paid him $1 a day, collecting perhaps thousands of dollars, officials said Thursday.
Terence Braxton, 28, turned himself in on bribery charges and was released without bail.
Authorities said Braxton took the payoffs between September and December, resigning after the principal learned of the scheme from a parent.
The charges accuse him of taking about $230 from six students, but sheriff's spokesman Mike Ward said the teacher's take was probably much greater.
I think the prosecutors are overlooking an important fact - this guy was teaching these kids important skills that they may use every day in their future political careers...
Heard this on my Sirius rock station today...pretty slimy dude.

I really hope you don't because I'm going to be older and will probably need your help.
It might just be that we're hearing about all the bad stuff on the news, but I get the general feeling that kids are too comfortable with all the new gadgets and stuff which is making them more complacent. I hope they start taking initiative and make something of themselves from their own hands and not by their parents or other means.

People have been doing stuff like this in one form or another for hundreds of years. The only difference is we now have the internet to hear about it all.
