I eliminated the players who played in very few games on my own as I selected my sets....

Humpback wrote:Thanks for the info. I guess this is what I like about fantasy football, a computer can't do it any better than a person. No way is Peyton the #5 QB, nevermind behind 2 guys who didn't even play the whole season. I mean, it can't be based solely on the statistics from the 2005 season- how could TO, Bulger, McNabb, etc. be that high if it was? Anyway, some interesting stuff...

VBD takes into account average per game stats and not the stats for the entire season. That's why TO is ranked the #1 WR. He averaged more yards/game and TD's/game than any other WR. Same thing with Manning. Bulger & McNabb played less games, but they both averaged more yards/game & TD's/game than Manning.

The only reason I knew this was that a fantasy football book I had a few years ago had a huge article on VBD. ;-D

Great work Plindsey. Thats a great starting point for next year. All that weve gotta do is make some small modifications, like bringing McGahee back into the top 15. He is the best running back ever, right?? :-b

Excellent work ;-D

It's safe to say he took their 2005 stats and divided by # of games played.

Divided total numbers by games played.... Both should be available on whatever stat site you prefer (NFL.com, ESPN.com, Yahoo.com, etc... etc...)

This is strictly for last year's results and does not take changes in coach, players, age, or philosophy into account. Correct?
