It would be hilarious if the Cafe somehow managed to change US policy.

My gut instinct would be to automatically vote no on this. But I haven't researched this too much at all, so I don't have an opinion at this time. From what I understand, we have a very good relationship with UAE....

The backlash that was witnessed after the deal to sell to the UAE company had more to do with xenophobia and ridiculous nationalism than national security. Many ports had been similarly controlled by foreign entities for years. If we do end up going to war with Iran, having the UAE as allies will be imperative. They are very strategically located in the Middle East in general, and for Iran specifically. How fast will all of the people who don't want anything to do with UAE now be calling for them to ally with us if that happens?
