Not a surprise at all. I read yesterday that these and possibly more cuts would be coming this week and next. Salary cap casualties are inevitable when you're $26 million over the cap. It's almost impossible to restructure that many contracts, especially when the players are in a bad situation to begin with. It's not like NE where players might be more likely to restructure because they are contenders. Just another day at the beach for Jets fans.

I don't think maddog60 meant to imply that Vilma will be gone. I think he was just saying that he feels sorry for Vilma because of the situation the team is in.
