I have mixed feelings about them cutting Mawae, but I definitely think that Penny will be next.
With the exception of Law and Sowell, these guys that they cut were complete garbage and I am glad they are gone, they were nothing more than liabilities. Now hopefully we can start the rebuilding process, and make it a short one, so that we can compete in 2007.

No way Vilma's a goner. He's the new face of that franchise. Quote me on that... and I'll eat crow later for it if I'm wrong.
I don't think maddog60 meant to imply that Vilma will be gone. I think he was just saying that he feels sorry for Vilma because of the situation the team is in.
ahhh... my bad.
Well, I think while Vilma's team will suck, his stats will improve. When someone has little talent around them, their tackkles go through the roof.

I meant, I feel sorry for him, because he's such a good player, and it may be 2-3 years before his team is competitive again.
yeah, I realize that now (after being told). See above post.
But I think the Jets D will still be somewhat ok in coming years. They still have a good DL (even without Abraham) and their secondary is passable. They definitely need to trade down and draft CB though. Or dump off Abraham for one.

Arizona, Oakland, and who else?
I mean, the guy is 32, and has no doubt lost a step, but he's still got to be considered one of the premier FA corners right now...
Arizona definitely, but Oakland doesn't have the room to be signing 30+ vets for anything but the bare minimum. I wouldn't be shocked if Miami made an attempt, maybe even Detroit, but I think a team like the Chargers, Bengals, or Jaguars who will be looking to win now would be most interested.

The Chargers and Jags were two I thought of... What about a return to the Pats? God knows they could use the help, and we saw how their secondary performed without him....
