i left off a couple that i'm kicking myself about now.
the buttless chaps - i'd call it psychedelic folk (?) but it's probably indie/folk/pop wiki says: a hybrid of punk, new wave and alternative country music. so i wasn't far off. the high violets - shoegaze

cool thanks...i will try to check some of these out, especially the chick fronted bands...i havent really gone on a new music search in awhile, now i just gotta find the time to look for them in iTunes
i keep meaning to check out Gogol Bordello too, i think that's like gypsy folk rock or something

I don't think you ever mentioned how you like this one? Or if you have any others and how you like them. Thank God For Mental Illness is really good if you don't have it, they recorded that album with the change they found in their couch.
