Been doing a lot of Power Metal listening lately (and I'm not a metalhead so if I lump someone into Power Metal and they belong in some other metal genre category - tough):

Sabaton (awesome stuff - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01IaKb6DmTw was the first one to get me and I have listened to about 50 or 60 songs from them since)

Uhhhh, I liked the sound of this description but from listening to a couple of tunes so far on youtube I think we must have different opnions on what constitutes "punch you in the mouth" rock.

I like it, but I wouldn't classify it that way.

Shinedown's cover of Lynnrd Skynnrd's "Simple Man". Gotta be my favorite song, must have listened to it 100 times.

Just wanted to say thanks for this. Simple Man is most likely my favorite all-time Skynnrd tune and these guys have really done it justice.

Not bad and I hate shinedown so that's something. Was really waiting for the rest of the band though - I liked the acoustic-ness of it, but saw the drummer settin up in the background of the video and really wanted hear the big climax of the song. That's probably my favorite part of the original Simple Man.

That's 311's new album. Not the biggest 311 fan (although I did see them with sublime less than a month ago), but that is a trippy cover - I like it.
