Be sure and give The 'Cuna the verdict on that one!
I too would feedback on that one. Is his brother on it?
No his brother isn't on it, so there's no big guitar theatrics, but the songwriting is very solid, and lyrically it's right up there with his best.
On a five star scale, I'd give it a 4+ for the Kinks fan, and a 4- for the non-fan.
Just nice to see him back writing great songs. Like most great CDs there's no immediate standout song, but no weak ones either, and taken as a whole, it's just pretty damn good. Kind of an updated fall-back to the great stuff of "Village Green" or "Arthur".

Years gone by, and I still think Bon Scott's death is one of rock's most tragic losses. I like Johnson's work with AC/DC, but Scott still reigns supreme in my book and this album is my fave Bon Scott fronted records.

As good as Back in Black is, you are correct.
Johnson always will be second rate compared to Scott, and Highway to Hell is a Stone Cold, tttbone approved, Classic. If you like rock 'n roll in any form, you have to like this.
Walk all over you, indeed.

I can't believe I just agreed 100% with a Duran Duran fan.
