Nothing like a good old thread resurrection to give the cafe something to talk about......plus, no sense in starting a new thread when one already exists....

Good call, Captain!!!

I discovered this Iceland band recently called Sigur Rós. For those that don't know who they are, they had a couple songs on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack including the awesome song at the end of the movie that's playing right before Tom Cruise jumps off the roof. If you like really tranquil, melancholy music you might really like it.

The two albums I bought are

and () *yes, the album is called "()" and every song is called Untitled. It's awesome.

I was just recently turned on to these guys:

Diary of Jane

Until the End

Breathe

They have a sound similar to Staind so if you like Staind, this should be right up your alley.....

Yes! Sigur Ros is awesome! I honestly didn't think anybody besides me and a few friends and the Icelandic folk knew about these guys. They really have a unique and addicting sound.

Cap-Breaking Benjamin rocks. Pretty good Staind comparison, but I like them a lot more since they have a bit more melody than Staind. Check out the CD "We Are Not Alone" as well. It's their sophomore album and Id say it's just as good as "Phobia". Their debut album "Saturate" is also very solid.

I would agree. As I was listening to some of their songs, the fact they had more melody in their music is what really drew me to like their sound.

I'll certainly give their other albums a listen. Good stuff!

Good call with Breaking Benjamin. They are one of the few newer bands that I like. Have you guys heard Five Finger Death Punch's The Bleeding? Pretty good.
