Who was the very first defensive player of the year?

It was either Joe Greene or Alan Page,i'm thinking Alan Page.I know for certain Defensive Player of the Year started in 1971.I think Page won it in '71 and Greene in '72.<br><br><span class=gensmall>Accepted as answer by Arlo on 15 Oct 2002 06:16 am EST.</span>
