wow, its as if koy and mike are airing it out or somethging.

garcia is nothing special, but it is an improvement, and own't cost much.

ITs pretty hard to get a good backup qb in a lot of ways.
The opening scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on games of dodgeball Brian Dawkins played in second grade.

McMahon. Detmer's been the placeholder for years and he plays for peanuts.

yea, I think detmer is gone too. Being th eplaceholder is great and all, but that means he has to enter the game before your real backup can. They need someone else.

I don't understand. What does being a placeholder have to do with backing up the 1st string QB?

Detmer plays for barely any money, almost every team needs a #3 QB, and he's been the placeholder for 5+ years.

well, its not a big deal in general. But the point is if donovan goes down, detmer has to enter the game. that's all. Plus he stinks, and using a roster spot for someone who is essentially just the placeholder is madness.

Looks like Garcia has been signed:

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Philadelphia Eagles and free agent QB Jeff Garcia (Lions) have agreed in principle to a deal. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
