Packers re-sign Kampman just before deadline

Kampman looked to be the best young DE on the market. Seems like a good signing by the Packers, who need to keep their younger players, especially if they have to start over at QB.

Interesting, the Packers are being criticized as a cheap team who will not pay their players over in the Javon Walker thread. That didn't seem to be the case here. I'm glad they kept Kampman.

really glad they kept Kampman because I hated the idea of them taking Marion Williams over AJ Hawk and with KGB and Kampman I figure they will take AJ considering they cut Diggs earlier

I think Kampman's alright, but he definitely benefits from being opposite KGB. Much like Brock in Indy.

The Pack should have gotten a cheaper replacement, in my opinion.

Kampman is ok, but he is good opposite an exclusive pass rusher like KGB. Unlike KGB, Kampman can acutally be a force in run stopping. He's and average DE that we can use because he knows the system and is still relatively young.

This is good news for the Packers defense. With the addition of Hawk and a decent CB this gould be quite the defensive unit in 06.
