The Denver Broncos announced free agent RB Ron Dayne has re-signed with the team after agreeing on a three-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

His stock shot up, that's for sure.

Good signing by the Broncos...I see Dayne getting a 60/40 or 65/35 ratio of the carries between he and Bell next year...

this doesnt surprise me at all, and i wouldnt be surprised if he becomes their workhorse back next year ahead of bell.

I dunno, I just can't see Ron Dayne actually being a sucessful fantasy back, let alone a sucessful back. I guess he's worthy of a pickup just in case he shows us a little of that Wisconsin magic...and by that I mean running over people.

Dayne is widely considered a pro bust, and for good reason. But consider he played behind Tiki Barber up until this year, and it is not farfetched to believe that he could actually have some talent in that overly-large RB body. He's a big back, like Mike Anderson was, and we all know Denver has the system for RBs to succeed annually. If he is given the chance to start, which I believe he will be, then I would expect about 1200 yards and 8TDs, simply due to the sheer number of carries he could recieve. He averaged something like 5 yards a carry this year, so those numbers are possible if you consider the extrapolation of his statistics as a full-time ball carrier. I'll take a gamble on him in the middle-late rounds.

I think the real question is whether or not Denvers offense will be as good at rushing as it has been without Kubiak there as the OC.

I have a hard time looking past the early failures of the great Dayne, but a mid round pick could be a good investment.
