Bumpage. We didn't make a killing, and until now haven't brought in a big name guy, but that's not to say we haven't made cap-conscious smart signings.
Packers FA move order of significance (according to skibrett15):
1)Sign Charles Woodson
Finally we have another talented player in the secondary besides Al Harris.
2)Sign Ryan Pickett
Most Tackles for a DT last season with the rams, should be a great fit for us on all downs.
3)Resign Aaron Kampman
Has a great motor. Will he produce as well as last season when it isn't his contract year? Dependable, although he doesn't get the sacks.
4)Resign Ahman Green
Two years removed from coming off of his best season and being our best player. He still has speed and power, but that injury was one of the nastiest injuries a RB could have.
5)Sign Marquand Manuel
Should compete with Roman for the other safety spot opposite Collins. Played mostly as a backup in Cincy and SEA until forced into action as starting S for Seattle last season. One of Ted Thompson's boys from Seattle.
6)Sign Ben Taylor
130+ tackles with Cleveland as starting LB last season. Our Linebacking core is one of our weakest positions on Defense and he's a starter at this point.
7)Resign Kevin Barry
A really quality O-lineman who can play tackle/gaurd. used to be the U-71 guy and would be our third tackle if Clifton/Tauscher goes down. Knows the system and hopefully can find a spot in the Zone blocking scheme.
8)Resign Rod Gardner
Former first round draft pick certainly has talent and although not blazing fast he can go over the middle. As a third/4th receiver depending on Walker situation he is a huge upgrade over Chatman.
9)Resign Najeh Davenport
Quality backup who excels in that role. Cannot stay healthy but has great power and surprising speed. Perhaps he'll do well with the zone blocking. Also a KR.
10)Sign Mark Boerigter
Depth signing, but if he can catch the ball he can play in our two minute drill.
11)Sign Billy Cudiff
Kicker who never found a home. Is good at kickoffs at the very least. Perhaps he can excel in a new home a la Neil Rackers? Perhaps not.
P.S. we also signed a bunch of kickers/punters/special teams guys.
ADMIN edit: please note that the overall sig limit is 12k - thanks!
(Thanks Leber)
