What's oakland to do now?

McCown is a guy that I think could succeed on many teams, but especially on a team like the Raiders, where the receivers are so good. Also he's used to playing behind a terrible line, so the difference between them and the raiders is the defense, and the RB (at least for McCown)
ADMIN edit: please note that the overall sig limit is 12k - thanks!

petedog9 wrote:Maybe but didnt they just rework Mc Nairs contract and push back a ton of $$$... That would all accelerate if the cut him. Voleks salary isnt that low to where he could be the #3 QB. Not saying it WILL happen but it was just a thought. Volek has wanted out of Tenn for a chance at being a starter now. I am sure he would jump at the chance to get the start in Oak.....

Tennessee paid McNair a 1M option to keep from having to pay him 50M to excercise an option in his contract to extend it. Basically they paid him an extra million dollars to make him a FA next year. His cap number is around 24M this year, so there is still speculation he may be cut if he does not take a pay cut. Cutting him would save 10-11M, I believe.
