Eagles Sign Jabar Gaffney

Postby michaelavelli » Thu Mar 16, 2006 8:42 am

Jabar Gaffney - WR - PHI - Mar. 16 - 8:00 am et
Jabar Gaffney agreed to a one-year contract with the Eagles.
Gaffney caught 55 passes in 2005 and was an underrated third-down threat for the Texans. It's uncertain how he'll fit into Philadelphia's attack, but he'll probably compete for the No. 2 and No. 3 receiver roles. Mar. 16 - 8:00 am et

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

This is getting f'n stupid, it really is. EAGLES RULE GETTING ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!

I hope this means they are giving up on billy mcmullen...

Otherwise, their roster is filling upwith wr's quickly, brown, pinky, lewis, mccants, gaffney, mcmullen. I hope some are practice squad.
The opening scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on games of dodgeball Brian Dawkins played in second grade.

McMullen should be cut. That guy cannot hold onto a pass to save his life. Considering that's his job, he should be fired.

Gaffney has talent but certainly isn't a #1 WR. A good #3 and with McNabb throwing the ball he can become an ok #2 option.

everyone on the team is potentially a number two. I mean brown MIGHT be a 1.5 this season, but pinky, gaffney and lewis seem like all the same thing, fast, not so physical.

yeah, not that I have anything against gaffney, but he isnt a #1 wr, and until they find a #1, the passing game will suffer

McNabb still did fairly well before TO came along. Of course, a lot of his pass yards were to the RB's, but he still put up decent numbers.

Sure, Gaffney isn't a big name acquisition, but he has a ton of speed and size that can be utilized by the Eagles offense. Who knows...maybe in a new scheme he'll thrive. Not likely, but you Eagles fans can hope! :-o

This isn't really that bad of signing. He's only been in the league 4 seasons, and on a horrible texans team. Gaffney could thrive on philly, besides who's his competition? todd (don't hit me) stinkston :-t
