Brooks, not really. He's like a scrambling Kerry Collins. Strong arm, bad decisions, but can run. Raiders should start the learning/rebuilding process with Andrew Walter. Walter is a smart, strong-armed QB that would have been a first rounder if he didn't get hurt at the end of his college career. I think it was a bowl game or something. Broke Elways records in the Pac-10 or whatever conference their schools are in. Played in some pre-season games and looked good. Why draft a rookie QB when you essentially already have a pretty good one in Walter.
I would bring in somebody like Griese to mentor/backup Walter. Little bit smarter than Brooks. Not quite the arm that the Raiders like but serviceable.
