Nall and Chatman Gone from the Pack

Nall
Free agent quarterback Craig Nall has signed with the Bills. Nall, a backup to Brett Favre for the past four seasons, agreed to a three-year contract, according to the Buffalo News. He'll compete for a backup slot behind either J.P. Losman or Kelly Holcomb, whoever wins the starting job in training camp.

Chatman
THE NEWS
The Bengals agreed to terms Sunday night with free agent wide receiver Antonio Chatman. Financial details of the two-year deal were not disclosed.

Not huge news, just letting the pack followers know.

I've always liked Nall..with the pathetic QB situation in Buffalo he may actually get a chance to start.

I think they worded this wrong. They probably meant to say "He'll compete for a backup slot behind either J.P. Losman or Kelly Holcomb, whoever LOSES the starting job in training camp. "

Thus making Nall a third string and not a second string QB.[/b]

The Bengals now have a bevvy of WR talent:

Chad Johnson
T.J Housmanswhatah
Chris Henry
Antonio Chatman
Tab Perry

That's a pretty deep WR corps.

Here is what I heard about the Nall signing.....it is an indicator that Favre will be back. Nall had gone hunting with Favre just before this decision and if Favre was going to retire Nall would be in position to at least compete for the starting job....but since he knows Favre will be back he decided to go elsewhere. Not saying it's gospel just what I heard on NFL Radio.
