yeah, saw this one coming. He'll be great insurance for Grossman, but I bet he'll be starting by season's end (or beginning). He's proven in Tampa that he can still start to satisfactory levels.

Wonder what the contract's like... but for 5 years, I can't imagine he won't be starting.

Good job, Chicago.

Very good signing. Between Grossman, Orton, and Griese they should be covered on QB injuries. Quality is the problem, but they only need a satisfactory QB to succeed with that defense.

I think Griese is a step above Grossman who is a step above Orton. If the defense carries the Bears to the playoffs again, I'd prefer Griese over the other two QBs.

I think Griese is better than anyone they have so I like the signing. The other two are no good.
Keep it lit.

The question is... does Griese replace Grossman or is he just insurance? Griese is a little old to be the franchise QB.

I'm really having mixed emotions about this signing. At first I liked it but now after I see they said he's got a definite chance to start I'm not so sure. Griese is probably a better quarterback than Grossman, but Grossman is the franchise QB and I don't feel starting a 30 some year old is going to be a very good franchise move. I'm just not sure, kinda torn on this.
