Dolphins: Davenport given a look
The News
The Dolphins entertained former Packers running back Najeh Davenport on Tuesday, reports the Miami Herald. Davenport rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns with the Packers before breaking his ankle in October.
Our View
Any contract offer would likely be an incentive-laden deal given Davenport's long history of injury. With that said, Najeh would be an intriguing pickup for the Dolphins. He has ties to the area as a former Miami Hurricane and could give the team a big, North-South style runner to complement Ronnie Brown. Those hoping Brown would carry a full load this season, however, can't be too excited that the Fish are taking a look at Davenport.
This wouldn't be great for Ronnie if it happened because Davenport is the kind of back that might be used in goal line and short yardage situations. If this happens then it looks like Brown and Caddy will be in similar situations, both with a TD vulture.
