Vikings | T. Williams agrees to terms
Thu, 23 Mar 2006 13:48:58 -0800

Adam Caplan, of the Pro Football News and Injury Report, reports the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with free agent S Tank Williams (Titans). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Vikings have seasoned backup Offord already. Nothing to sing home about, but startable (in my opinion). My question, I've always liked Tank Williams, but will he be handed the job outright?

Yea that was my first thought when I read this. Both are great backups, probably a bit below average starters. Don't understand why the Vikings didn't go out and spend some money on safety, unless they are going to draft a S because they really lost a lot on the secondary losing Brian Williams and Corey Chavous. It will be interesting to see how the secondary will hold up because at the end of the year when the defense started doing well, Brian Williams was the 2nd starting CB, not Fred Smoot.
