It's all a big put-on. The initial rounds are just a bunch of jackasses trying to “sing” as poorly as possible to get their 15 seconds of fame (or 15 minutes as in the case of that Asian guy). The rest of the show is essentially Star Search with a pissy judge.

The joke is on the people who watch it – it’s all fake but the masses eat it up like it’s top-quality entertainment.

Meanwhile, shows on The Science Channel, The Discovery Channel, The National Geographic Channel, The History Channel, et cetera, go unwatched because people don’t want to actually learn things while they watch television. God forbid that should happen!

With all the GOOD TV out there, it sickens me that this show tops the ratings.

I will never watch American Idol...I really can't stand reality TV unless it's a sport.

Death Metal Idol might actually be funny though...

I do watch stuff on TDC...Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs are freaking hilarious.
