It was quite a game...the Ducks and Wings are just two teams that know how to get it done during playoff time it seems. You just feel it watching them.

Definitely. Ducks are putting on a heck of a run. They had no business getting past round 1 and here they are against Detroit and they've stolen home ice advantage in game 2.

To be honest it doesn't surprise me. They have made their runs before with basically this team, they have veteran leaders and a hot goalie in Hiller, who I love to watch, he is basically a Giggy with better reflexes (and looks like he is cheating less....)...makes it look all too easy.

Seeing the Sharks lose in the first shocked me...Nabby is a monster in the playoffs, but because it was the Ducks it takes away from the shock a bit. The Sharks could of only lost in the first to the Ducks and Wings, IMO. The Wings Ducks series is the Western Conference final IMO. That is unless the Ducks win and are just drained from the tough series...

I sort of agree here. If the Red Wings win, I think they'll easily win the West, because they'll have beaten the remaining team with the best chance of beating them AND they'll have home ice for the West finals. If the Ducks win, I could see them losing to Vancouver or Chicago if Hiller comes back down to earth a bit.

We basically agree than. Both think the Wings winning the series means winning the Conference, and the Ducks winning the series may not mean winning the conference, but theres a nice chance of it.

I could see Hiller coming down to earth After playing Sharks/Wings than whoever...its just a hard thing to do as a goalie. Beating the top 2 teams in your conference than playing a team who isn't of the same caliber can be really hard and I would be very impressed if this young kid could continue this level of play through the next series if they beat the wings.

I don't catch up on hockey as much as I used to, but I'm not surprised. Sure, there were a few changes in personnel from the '07 team and they play themselves into more penalties than their physical style would tolerate, but I thought the Ducks had a run in them. Besides, the neighbors to the north are good at folding like accordions under the burden of high expectations. B-)
