Sig Question for those with GIMP

I have a question. First I get my picture, paste it on a new design, crop it a bit and so on. I can either then erase everything I don't want out or resize it first. When I resize it to cafe limits, 100 pixels for height, I want to make the guy fill out most of my signature. I can't figure out the right demensions to do this. I am a beginner, and trying to learn. If anyone can help me out, that would be great.

Example: I made this sig, and wanted the middle Carter to fill out almost all of the middle, but I couldn't get the right demensions in pixels. Thanks in advance.

dont trim down the picture to 100 pixels high. Just move him over to your sig that is 100 pixels high and you can have the rest of vince "hang over the edge" of the sig where it wont show up
