III is definately better than the first two "new ones." The first one put me to sleep (not to mention Jar Jar ) The second one was forgettable. At least EPIII had some cool effects.

i agree. RotS was by far the best of the new series. AotC was brutal. TPM was cool just because of the buildup.

Jar-Jar Pothead and Kid "Annie" made me wonder why I was watching The Phantom Menace instead of Teletubby reruns.

The gushy love story romantic crap in Attack of the Clones made me wonder why I didnt rent Titanic on DVD.

Yeah Episode Three was by far the best of the new ones.

Jar Jar is an abomination, I'll agree to that. Where I think TPM has it over the other two is Darth Maul – clearly the best “bad guy” of the prequels. It was when Lucas killed Maul off at the end of the TPM that I knew the prequels were in trouble.

AotC was just blah – vanilla pap with not enough action or good bad guys. Christopher Lee was just a bit old for me to see him as a great challenge to the Jedi Order. Maybe that’s age-ism – who knows. All of those idiots in the Council of Bad Guys (whatever their names were) just grated on me – they were clearly just cannon fodder for the Emperor and the cookie-cutter characters were absolutely uninteresting. I hated the “romance” between Anakin and Padme – it made zero sense and was the death-knell for that whole storyline in my opinion.

Revenge was just plain stupid. Anakin’s character hadn’t developed into anything resembling an empathetic anti-hero, Padme’s character as developed over the first two movies did a 180 and acted like a complete idiot when it came to her “relationship” with Anakin, and the chemistry between the two was absolutely nonexistent. The whole movie was so by-the-numbers – just hated it. I felt betrayed that I had put so much interest into the franchise only to have it end that way. Ugh.

Jar Jar was the best character of the entire series - hands down.
His voice was about as ear-splitting as nails on a chalkboard.




I'm with most everyone else - The Empire Strikes Back was the better of the entire series.
