DOES THIS LOOK LIKE AN 0-3 TEAM?!?!?!?!

Postby DudeLaw » Mon Sep 22, 2003 4:50 pm

Hey Guys,

I'm totally vexed.....I am in a 10 team league and my team just lost for the 3rd straight game....what is my problem?...does this roster look like it belongs to an 0-3 manager?:

Tom Brady
Brad Johnson
Terrell Owens
Chad Johnson
Jimmy Smith
Ricky Williams
Travis Henry
Corey Dillon
Anthony Thomas
Freddie Jones
Morten Anderson
Brian Urlacher
Reggie Tongue
Michael Barrow

After looking at my roster, I figured I'd be running away with the league, instead of tied for 9th after week 3!!....Can anyone assist me and give me some pointers as to what I should do to remedy this??!?!?!! THANKS IN ADVANCE GUYS!!! ;-D

As to advice, just hang in htere and hope. I don't know if your team can get much better. Especially in a 10 team league. I can sympathize with you some. I am 1-2 with this team:
QB Brooks, McNair, Hasselbeck
RB Portis, Henry, W. Green, Hambrick, Onterrio Smith.
WR Harrison, Robinson, A. Johnson, Lelie, Shaw, J. Reed, T. Glenn
PK Feely, Jeff Reed
D Miami

I don't know how I lost. Then again, When my best wr has 3 points, I can see why I lost.

Pre Week 1 I wouldn't have thought 3-0 for you (I'm not a fan of your QBs), but I certainly wouldn't have thought 0-3.

It's really hard to advise withouth knowing specifics. You need to take a flyer on a WR and possibly QB. (Pennington may be back sooner than we think at QB.) You have a little flexibility at RB and perhaps you can swap Chad Johnson & a RB for a more solid WR, or do the same at QB.

Unfortunately you need a strong week from one of these guys to pump up their value for trading.

Keep the faith with Ricky & TO, they'll pull you through. IDPs are a chapshoot but I'd hold onto Urlacher and play various defensive guys based on matchups. (For instance, Carolina playing Atlanta I love Mike Rucker when you drop Barrow. Try a tackling lineback whenever he plays MIA, CAR or BAL. Etc.)
... in my opinion, of course - but that should always go without saying.

well, unless i'm just totally missing something, i would say part of your problem is that jimmy smith hasn't played all year...

other than that, you've just been killed by inconsistancy. just wait it out i guess. i have the same problem. i thought my team looked great at the start of the year, but i'm probably gonna be 0-3 depending on how portis does for my opponent tonight.

start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr:

QB: brooks, warner, johnson
RB: ricky, deuce, tiki, Wgreen, hambrick
WR: Rmoss, driver, Cjohnson, boston, rogers, chambers, pinkston
It doesn't need to be in good taste, so long as it tastes good

I feel ya, I'm 1-2 in a league where I have 60 more points overall than the next closest guy. I lost the first week by 0.6 to the highest scoring team that week, then just lost again this week b/c Henry got hurt and couldn't get me a measly 5 points. I have played the team w/ the highest score (besides me) every week except this week, where the guy is 2 points below highest.

Head-to-head blows sometimes.
