Favorite Pink Floyd Album

Postby Dr. Duran Duran » Tue May 09, 2006 3:43 pm

Just running a little poll to get the juices flowing in here. What Pink Floyd studio album is your favorite and why? This isn't a debate to see which album is the "Best" album, it's a personal choice so please don't sabotage the thread by saying what album should be someone's favorite just because you think it's a "better" album.

I own em all, and while Dark Side is hard to beat, I really love Wish you were here.

Dark Side Close Second.

I voted for Momentary Lapse of Reason. It's the first album by Floyd I ever got introduced to and still remains my favorite. I've always liked Gilmour's voice more than Waters', and that's not to say I don't like Roger Waters. Dark Side and Wish You Were Here are my #2 and #3 respectively.

I’m going to be the only person voting for The Final Cut. Honestly, there should have been an “All of the above” choice, because it’s so hard to pick just one. That’s a really fantastic body of work right there.

I like The Final Cut quite a bit. It has some very emotive songs that you never ever hear on the radio. Their rarity is what makes them so good, IMO.

Here’s something to debate – has any band ever had such an awesome pair of back-to-back albums as Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall? That right there is a two-pack of music that blows away almost every other duo of albums by any group ever.

There might be one coming up soon that we could do that in...

meddle. echoes is all the explanation necessary for me. however, if ummagumma was not a double album, the live ummagumma would take it for me. i love the atom heart mother suite too, but that album isn't that great. a saucerful of secrets is an awesome track as well, but just as atom heart mother, the rest of the album isn't that great.
