"Homefield Advantage" in FF???

I think one possibility to get the home field advandate would be with the rounding of fractionnal points.

For example: both players have a QB that scored 24.3 pts in a week

The home player's QB could see his point total up to 25 as for the visiting one, he'd see his total down to 24.

Yeah, this is the key....It is kind of fair if you make sure everyone has the same number of home and away games, then you have a 50-50 chance each week to get the extra points.

I think after considering everything, making it a tie-breaker is the best way to go if you want to have homefield advantage in your league, and I actually think that is the best way to break ties in playoff games (then the team with the best regular season record moves on).
