Is that the latest picture of Mercer? Geez, last time I saw a pic of the dude, he was skinnier than... something skinny.
Anyway, I'm cheap. I'm too cheap to buy cereal, or even the knock-off cereal. But one of these days, I'll get an irresistable craving and I'll know what to look for. Good thread, methinks.

I rarely ever buy full-price name brand cereal anymore. $4-$6 a box is just ridiculous! Between Meijers, Kroger and Farmer Jack its pretty easy to find a good sale on cereal just about any week of the year.
For MSB, these are the Kroger off brands I have tried:
Cocoa Puffs - Awesome, almost as good as the General Mills
Corn Flakes - OK, but kinda bland
Raisin Bran - Good
Fruit Loops - Good
Cinnamon Toast Crunch - Very good
Fruity Pebbles - Good
Frosted Mini Wheats - Awesome
Honey Comb - Awesome, my favorite
Cheerios - Very good
Apple Jacks - Very good
I know that there is 1 or 2 of them that I didn't like. None are coming to mind though. For the most part, they are all good or at least tolerable.

I like the Kroger brand Apple Jacks and this other kind that I can't think of the name....Its not even in a box, it comes in a bag....They're like little Cap'n Crunch but circle-shaped....Anyone know what I'm talking about?
And I'm really weird....I like the Puffed Wheat cereal too That was the only kind my Granny ever had growing up...

Oh yeah, the Kroger Cap N Crunch is really good.
Those that come in a bag are the same as the box, the bag is just a much bigger size. The big bags are good value, normal price $2.50 for 28-30 oz. of cereal. Compare that to $3.79 for 14 oz of name brand Cap N Crunch.

I usually eat Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Cinnamon Life.
There is a generic of cinnamon toast crunch that my son likes just as much. It is sold at Wal mart here.
You could think of government workers like teenagers. You pay them an allowance, but do you get any work out them? They eat the food, put their feet on the furniture and complain loudly whenever they are unhappy.
