What brands would you recommend for shoulder pads? Nothing too expensive, just something for me to wear throughout high school, and hopefully afterwards. Ever heard of the brand "barnett"? Any opinions/reviews on it? Thanks guys!

You guys have to buy your own pads? You can't expect to be the same size from 9th-12th grade....I know I went up a few sizes anyway?....
We always used Riddell....But if you are buying your own, be sure to get the ones with the T-snaps and the buckle snaps....They stay in place so much better and it makes it harder to hold you....
What else do you have to buy? Your jersey? Helmet? I'm pretty surprised they make you buy your own that sure seems like something that your school should provide.

Our school provides a really junky set for us, like they've been used for like 15 or so years now. We have to buy our jersey, but they're nice, pro quality and sticthed lettering, numbers, etc. We keep 'em at the end of the season.
I'm looking for something of an upgrade over what we get provided...

You could think of government workers like teenagers. You pay them an allowance, but do you get any work out them? They eat the food, put their feet on the furniture and complain loudly whenever they are unhappy.
