referral sites

has anyone ever used these sites before?
It seems like a scam, but I've found some forums online that exist for the sole purpose of helping people get free products from these sites. Anyone ever do this?

Nah, these things are scams.. and it's usually frowned upon to post links to these types of sites on forums. :-?

yeah...I figured that. I'm not looking for referrals, but I am wondering if anyone has done something like that

Aye, I realized that as you didn't post your referral number or anything like that.

But yeah.. most people who join this end up not being able to get all their referrals, which is great for the companies who get money for the referrals and don't have to pay for any "gifts." Pyramid schemes suck for the people at the bottom.

Haven't done anything with them but they just seem too much of a crock to try for me.

My friend did one. Had to get 5 people to sign up for some different free trials (stamp collecting, blockbuster video, etc.)

At the end he got a free 20GB Ipod.

So, while most probably are a crock, some of them are legit. I read an article about it a while ago, it was specifically on the Ipod deal my friend got. I guess the company, although they have to pay for the Ipod, still ends up with a killing.
