my personal favorite is houses of the holy. but it seems among led zeppelin fans, that i know, II is the best. but i prefer IV to II. i wouldn't start anyone out on houses of the holy.

Other that that, my opinion would be Led Zep I, IV, II and III in that order.
Also - the Plant/Page MTV DVD "No Quarter" (UnLedded) is fantastic.
This would be the best thing to get as a gift for someone who doesnt have any Zep CDs.
My favorite is IV but its more so for the memories that go along with the songs of the album.

I'd say get her psychotherapy for even wanting a Zep album, but I suppose if she has to have one I'm with moon on this one. HotH is my fave as well, although I can't really handle any of this old fart dust music anymore.

More like I used to be. It's grown very old and tired now, and I can't see starting a Zep collection so long after the death of the band. I don't know, I'm just not one of those people that can listen to the same songs for 25 years and not get bored. All I was really saying is that album was the best of the bunch IMO.
