BOTB: The Clash vs. Bruce Springsteen and E Band--Clash Wins

The Clash pretty much are the sole reason punk is still around. I'll give them this, they were incredibly influential. But Springsteen is one of the biggest classic rock stars, and had some of the best lyrics consistently. Moreover, he's still good all these years later (The Rising was quite a good album).

This is a major upset IMO. I voted Clash, but I know there are a ton of Springsteen supporters out there. I thought name alone would clinch this for the Boss.

I decided to look over all the past results and was startled by this result. I didn't realize The Clash had so many fans. I like them (and seen them) but Bruce is the Boss and nothing beats a Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Show (all 3 hours+ of it). I even went to go see them 5 times in one week.

The "E Street Band" was barely a backup band to a one-man show.

Listen to a Bruce album with the E Street Band on it. Then listen to an album with out it. Big difference. Even a bigger difference in concert. "That sound" that Bruce is know for is actually the residue of the E Street Band.
