I'll fess up - I voted for Journey.

I like Lynard Skynard a lot but other than "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Freebird" not much else made the radio waves. Journey, an arena rock band - yes, but they were cranking out the radio hits.

And who didn't sing "Open Arms" to their Junior High or High School girfriend back in the day? HUH?

Simple man is one of the best songs ever IMO. Skynryd by a mile, unless a bunch of chicks start voting.

And one of the best covers (shinedown does an amazing rendition).

Though did I sing some Journey to my highschool girlfriend, it was "faithfully" (her favorite).

I like Journey if I'm in a very romantic sappy mood, but Skynyrd with Sweet Home Alabama, Simple Man, What's Your Name, Tuesday's Gone, Freebird, Gimme Two Steps, the list just goes on. Despite always having that southern feel, I think they varied their songs alot more than Journey too.

They get so much airplay that I find that hard to believe. You may not know you're listening to them, but I'm sure you've heard their music before.
