TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Receiver David Boston, who has missed most of the past two seasons, signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday.

Boston, a Pro Bowl selection in 2001 when he had 98 receptions for the Arizona Cardinals, was limited to five games over the past two years with the Miami Dolphins because of injuries.

All five of those games came in 2005, when he caught four passes for 80 yards before being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.

A first-round draft pick of the Cardinals in 1999, Boston has 315 career catches for 4,699 yards and 25 touchdowns in seven seasons with Arizona, San Diego and Miami.

The Bucs also announced that receiver B.J. Johnson was released.

He was so good that one year. I remember because it was my first year of fantasy football and I had him and two of my teams. What a waste of talent he has become...

So hard to believe how much of an impact player he once was. Now he's just a man hoping to get a roster spot on a team short on recieving talent. Hell, if Peerless Price can find his way back on a team, Boston should be a shoo-in.

Hes still a couple years from 30...

If he could drop 30 lbs of muscle, maybe he can find his way again

Im a little confused here...I understand Boston missed some time due to injuries but didn't he also fail a drug test or two??? The steroid freak will never be as athletic as he use to be, just stick him at TE and you may get some value out of him!

Nice... with the Bucs... oh boy, are my friends going talk about this. If I didn't learn here, I would learn soon enough from them.

I don't like Tampa.

I guess that's what I get from being a Philly fan in Bucs country.
