It really isnt that hard to tell if its photoshopped it just takes time, you hae to zoom in right to the pixels and look for shading, consistency, see if the guy used the smudge tool...etc

Personally it looks to me as if the wrestlers thumb was extended over his eye socket, like right beside the guys eyebrow and then he just cut off the thumb and replace the flesh color inside.....if u look close that dark ridged part doesnt look right, as if u used it for a filler so its not just one blank color filling it up, which would make it dead obvious..

either way its a pretty sweet pic, but it sucks for the guy receiving if it is real....as MOE from the simpsons would say....."He aint pretty no mo-"

For those with an eye for photoshopping. It does seem to be a bit blurry right where finger meets eyes.

And for the bent thumb theory. Maybe, but it seems to be jammed in there pretty far to just be a bent thumb.

You did a better job of resizing! I should have used GIMP to resize it instead a quick job with a little image editor.

Anyways, there's pixalization all around the thumb, so it looks like a shop to me.
