It does look alot like a crayfish(crawfish), the claws almost look like a scorpion. Less bulky and meaty then the crayfish(crawfish). That thing is really fascinating to me.

Looks more like a crawfish (crayfish, crawdad, mudbug) than a scorpion to me. Although I guess the main difference in a crawfish and a scorpion is the tail, and whoever made the discovery has probably never seen a crawfish before.
