I went with U2. Aside from the crazy superfans, most people can say they enjoy U2 at some point in their careers. Whether you like the early stuff (Boy, War, Unforgettable Fire), or their peak years (Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby), or their dabblings in more techno-electropop sounds (Zooropa, Pop), or even their latest overcommercialized work (All That You Can..., How to Dismantle...), there's usually something for everyone.
And if you hate all their work, well, I guess you go can take a hit of acid and listen to some White Rabbit then.

To be honest, I like Jefferson Airplane overall more than U2.
However, Joshua Tree alone is good enough to beat everything of Jefferson Airplane's, I'm sad to say.
U2 for this one ... and I also think this is another "Beach Boys" scenario. Either you vote for U2 or against them. I don't even know anyone who's a huge fan of JA.
