Anyone else watch The Ultimate Fighting Championships or The Ultimate Fighter 3?

I've never really gotten into the whole UFC thing until lately, and now I'm hooked!

The Dude = HUGE fan

Edit - I should elaborate.

I was a big fan back in the day - used to rent all the original UFCs and then was brought back to the sport by them showing it on cable tv. The sport has evolved so much - its amazing - my hope is that it'll supplant boxing within the next 5-10 years and that ESPN will pull their head out of their ass and actually treat it as a sport.

I went to the first ever MMA fight card in California a couple months ago and saw Frank Shamrock KO Cesar Gracie - 18,000 people - it was pretty awesome.

I was sad to see Gracie get pummeled by Hughes at UFC 60, but it was inevitable, given the evolution of the sport.

Some great fights coming up this year. I'm going to be in Vegas during the next Ultimate Fight Night, but they want $150 for the cheap seats - too rich for my blood.

my favorite guy is Ken Shamrock. I think it's just because I can't stand Tito Ortiz, and he's Shamrock's biggest rival. I want SHamrock to beat Ortiz so bad I can't see straight.

UFC is dope. UFC 60 was a bit of a let-down though. My favourite fighter has to be St. Pierre. You know, because he is Canadian.

The_Dude - as an old-style UFC fan did you see the fight (somewhere in the UFC6-9 range) where that Hawaiian guy with all the religious tatoos (for some reason the name Kimo is in my head but that is probably not correct) won his match by drilling the other guy in the nards a half dozen times straight to break out of some hold he was in? :-o :-o I couldn't walk properly for a week just from watching that, nevermind the poor bassturd that took the shots... !+)

I have actually gotten turned on to it in the past month or so...Now I usually stop on it whenever I see it flipping through the channels. It's not appointment TV for me or anything, but then again, it's pretty rare for me to schedule around TV shows. I need to get Tivo soon.

Ditto. Franklin is amazing. That last fight, he broke his wrist and got a hairline fracture in his ankle and still managed to kick a$$. I also really like George St. Pierre.

josebach also = HUGE Fan

I've seen the last 8 or so on Pay-Per-View with the exception of the latest one with Hughes and Gracie because I was out of town. My friend taped if for me and I plan on finally watching it this weekend. What's even more awesome is my wife really likes watching both pay-per-view and TUF.

I watched the first 4 or 5 UFCs and then stopped watching because the fights got so boring. I started watching again back when the started TUF and I haven't stopped yet. I really like the newer set of rules and weight divisions.

Pride kicks ass too, but I like UFC better because I'm more familiar with the fighters.

I was really pissed why Sylvia beat Arlovski. Rematch coming up July 8th!!! ;-D ;-D ;-D
